St. Nicolas 22

3 December 2022

St Nicolas

This year, good Santa visited the children in the classrooms on Saturday, December 3rd. Not only did he come, but also smiling angels and spooky devils. However, the pupils practiced honestly and sang Christmas carols, so the devil didn’t take anyone away. As a reward, the children received an allowance, in which they could find Czech Pardubice gingerbread, Pedro chewing gum, but also a potato, which is supposed to remind the children not to be angry next year.

During the day, the children could enjoy the products they made in the prepared workshops. They had a choice of Christmas decorations, for example, a Christmas tree made of pine cones, a star made of colored hairy wires, or an angel made of paper baskets. The biggest attraction was decorating gingerbread cookies, which were baked for us by both mothers and schoolchildren from Tufnell Park Primary school. They are baked gluten-free so that everyone can really enjoy the gingerbread.

A pleasant end to the day was the Christmas concert, where the children who go to the Citrónky school choir and the teachers sang for us. Traditional Czech carols and songs from classic Czech fairy tales. The entire audience was able to join in the singing, creating a beautiful Christmas atmosphere.
