Spring Camp 2025
From 27 to 30 May 2025, the popular Spring Camp took place in the beautiful surroundings of The Mill Residential Centre, located on the border of Surrey and Sussex, just south of London. The camp offered children three days and three nights full of games, adventure, and fun — all in Czech — with this year’s theme focused on time travel.
Participants aged 6 to 15 enjoyed comfortable accommodation with full board and a rich program in the heart of nature. Older children were warmly welcomed to join as junior camp instructors, giving them the opportunity to take on more responsibility and contribute to the smooth running of the camp.
Together, the children travelled back to the prehistoric era among mammoth hunters, peeked into the Middle Ages with the knights of Charles IV, and ended their journey in a futuristic world filled with flying cars and artificial intelligence.
The program also featured creative workshops, where children made their puppets and used them to film short time-travel themed videos. They also sculpted prehistoric animals from clay, built catapults, and painted stained glass windows. During an exciting game, they searched for a hidden treasure “in the alleys of old Prague” from the time of Charles IV. The children’s imagination and enthusiasm knew no bounds throughout the camp.
To top it all off, the final evening featured the always-popular nighttime courage trail, where children tested their bravery and overcame their fears. This activity not only created a powerful shared experience but also boosted the confidence of all participants.
The camp was filled with friendship, teamwork, and creative discovery. Led by experienced Czech-speaking leaders, the entire stay provided children not only fun but also the opportunity to develop their Czech language skills outside the classroom.
We’re already looking forward to the next edition!
