Scavenger hunt, following King Charles I.

On the 25th May 2024, Year 5 set off for a scavenger hunt, following King Charles I. Our detective work began at the Houses of Parliament where we successfully located Oliver Cromwell’s statues – the man involved in Charles’s beheading! The statue is looking directly at one of two Charles’s heads which we found on our trip.

Our clues led us around Westminster Abbey to the statue of our late Queen’s favourite pet and towards Churchill War Rooms. We took a lunch break in St James’s Park opposite and re-energised continued back to Whitehall and Royal Horse Guard. We found out much more about Charles’s beheading and places relevant to him and before long, it was time to go back to school. But not before we divided a well-deserved treasure among us and solved who ruled after Charles I.
