Night with Andersen 2025: Oddsock Eaters Took Over This Year’s Night with Andersen
On Friday, 28 March 2025, Tufnell Park Primary School hosted the 13th annual Night with Andersen – a beloved tradition of literary-themed overnight fun, bringing children the magic of books and reading through adventurous activities, games, and creative workshops.
This year’s edition was inspired by the Oddsocks Eaters (Lichožrouti) – the famous characters from the books by Pavel Šrut and Galina Miklínová. During the evening, children created their own oddsock eaters and became members of this mischievous and playful crew. The entire program drew from the imaginative world where socks mysteriously disappear and creativity knows no bounds.
One of the evening’s highlights was a live broadcast on Radio Junior, where we had the chance to speak directly with Galina Miklínová, illustrator and co-creator of the Oddsocks Eaters. We also took the opportunity to wish her a happy 55th birthday.
As is tradition, the children spent the night right at the school, and the atmosphere was once again filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The evening proved that Night with Andersen is not just about reading – it’s about friendship, creativity, and shared adventure.
We’re already looking forward to next year.
