The Emil Zátopek Run
The Czech School is proud to announce its participation in The Emil Zátopek Run, organized by the Czech Center on September 22. This unique sporting event was a tribute to one of the greatest Czech athletes of all time – Emil Zátopek – and became not only a celebration of his legacy but also an opportunity for the school to engage its students and staff in a healthy and active lifestyle.
Despite unpredictable weather alternating between sunshine and rain throughout the day, the event was a great success. The atmosphere at the start and during the race was filled with excitement and sporting spirit. Our students and teachers actively participated in various running categories, and many of them surpassed their personal goals.
The Emil Zátopek Run was not just a sports competition but also a reminder of the indomitable spirit and willpower that Emil Zátopek embodied. This whole project was a charity event and all its profits are going to young athletes in uneasy situation. The Czech School has also prepared multiple activities for young participants of the run. The organizers are already planning the next edition, and the Czech School hopes to have the opportunity to participate again next year.
We would like to thank all participants, organizers, and supporters who contributed to the success of this sports event. We look forward to the next year and believe that we will once again experience a fantastic sporting atmosphere.
