National Memorial Arboretum

It was a great honour to represent Czech School Without Borders, London at the unveiling of the Czechoslovak Memorial – a new national memorial dedicated to the Czechoslovak men and women who bravely fought alongside Britain and the Western Allies during World War II.

Located at National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, this long-overdue monument is a powerful tribute not only to the wartime courage of our veterans, but also to the decades-long struggle for freedom and democracy that followed – a struggle that continued until the Velvet Revolution in 1989.

This moving initiative, titled ‘Operation Our Thanks’, was organised by the Memorial Association for Free Czechoslovak Veterans (MAFCSV) to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII in 2025.

If you have the chance, I warmly Encourage you to visit and pay your respects.
