A Famous Czech Puppet Hurvínek Visited London
To celebrate his 100th birthday, Hurvínek treated himself to a journey around the world, and at the end of March he paid us a visit. He did not come alone, but brought along his faithful dog, Žeryk.
We showed him some of London’s hidden corners that ordinary tourists rarely get to see (including the Czech Centre – and, of course, our school!), as well as some of the city’s best-known landmarks, such as Tower Bridge and Hyde Park.
During his visit to the school, Hurvínek joined a choir rehearsal, attended the crochet club, and even took part in a leadership team meeting. Naturally, he also visited the classrooms, where he helped the children with Czech grammar and colouring activities.
We thoroughly enjoyed Hurvínek’s visit and wish him all the very best for his next hundred years!
